A smile says so much…

It’s a lot easier to smile than it is to frown. Takes fewer muscles to smile than it does to frown. And a smile lift’s the mood of the person smiling as well as the person seeing the smile.

A smile says so much

sharing with you a few words penned/shared on social media recently to uplift your Monday

A smile hides so much

A smile adds so much

A smile gives so much

A smile takes enough

A smile increases face value

A genuine smile comes from the heart

A smile benefits the giver and receiver

Just remember… through it all… you can always smile

Not because you’re oblivious to what’s going on… no… because you’re strong enough to decide to smile even with everything going on

Expanding on the thought..

Several people will rebuke this post… saying things long the lines of “well… isn’t that going against how I feel… to smile when I don’t feel like smiling? Isn’t that being fake?”

Feelings come and go. Moods constantly change. That’s a given. The choice to smile in the face of advantages as well as adversities is more about a mindset.

Individuals who have learned to smile in bad times understand the mechanism of a smile. It will elevate your mood and give you a boost to continue facing what you’re facing. The whole world does not need to know you’re in a bad mood or having a bad day. That’s information more suited for those you trust than just any random anyone.

Because the mind loves to work by associations, if you’re finding the energy to smile, the mind starts to conclude that you’re believing your situation is not as bad as it appears. It now is worth fighting for a solution in stead of giving up.

By the way, just because you’re smiling in adversity does not mean it has to be a fake smile or a forced smile either. We’ve seen smiles in sadness before. Those are some of the most moving and touching smiles because they’re so honest and true.

Just because we decide to smile doesn’t mean we have to smile all the time either. The choice is squarely in your hands. You benefit from your smile. As an added bonus, those who see you smiling benefit too. They see you as more approachable, warmer, kinder, smarter, better. Even if it’s only 0.1% difference, it’s still an advantage to you as well as them.

Motivational Monday

Especially when others dread Mondays, stack the deck in your favor by starting off your week with a smile. Let your mind work in your favor by seeing the day as a favorable opportunity for you to move closer to your goals. Smile and give yourself a boost. Tackle the day to set up the rest of the week with a powerful win.

Even if it’s a small win, take it. With a smile.

It may not be a massive smile, but it’s ok if it is. Some may need to practice smiling, others naturally just smile. Break the resting b-face every now and again and smile. It is not a sign of weakness but a sign of confidence and certainty.

Cheers to a new work week. Keep that smile bright.

Thanks to Lady Gigi (her name on this blog, not in real life) for modeling such a wonderful smile to inspire this post.
