Building up takes teamwork

I nearly didn’t publish a post today. It’s “Motivational Monday” and I’m not feeling up to the task.

However, thanks to some virtual mentors, I’m reminded to keep pressing forward… even when you don’t feel like it.

Building Up Takes Teamwork

We have friends who support us in a number of different ways. Sometimes, their silence or distance may feel like abandonment but it’s actually encouragement.

Example. They may not like being around all the second guessing you’re doing, or the lack of action on the advice you seek… so they run a bit quiet to give you space to mature and come to grips with what you need to be doing.

Outside those few ‘darker’ moments of support, most friends will push you and encourage you positively to move forward.

Teaming for bigger goals

During the past few weeks, I’ve been pushing myself hard to knock off certain key goals.

Without the gentle push and accountability of friends and family, it would have been all too easy to quit and give up.

This very blog post is coming out today because i know people are expecting me to put out a post on Monday.

Also, it feels good to know you’ve not disappointed yourself and those who look up to you.

A few people have told me this: “the way you do the little things when no one is really looking says more about how you’ll do the big things when everyone is looking”

In other words, if I skip out on a post this early in the year, what happens when I have a larger audience later in the year?

Motivational Monday

I’m so grateful for the people who work behind the scenes through the means of friendship to help me move forward into being a better person.

We all need someone to help us along the way. Someone to believe in us when we don’t want to believe in ourselves.

Even when we may feel like they’re not supportive, being real enough to understand that they are still supportive… is a huge give that propels us forward.

Make today a great day on purpose. Even if you don’t feel like it. You might just surprise yourself and have a better day than expected.

Just remember to be grateful to those who support you, even if their method of support wasn’t the one you had expected.

In every endeavor, there is a temptation to take more credit than is due.

“My skills carried me through”

We often forget the value of supportive friends who cheer and encourage us silently in the background.

We even take for granted the support of family.

Without the sacrifices of many loved ones, we would not be able to chase some of the goals we reached.

Even the friends who appeared to abandon us and turn their backs on us… played a part in motivating us to push forward.

Today… mused a few thoughts about that on the blog. We rise because we’ve got support from many.

Like, standing on the shoulders of giants.

Keep your friends close… let them know that you appreciate their role in helping you succeed.

You never know when you’ll need more of their support again.

If I hadn’t gotten a little boost, I wouldn’t have posted today. (Here or on the blog)

This photo, taken by me, was with one of my friends (off camera) who came out just to cheer me on as I practiced doing scenery shots.

Then… checked in on me to make sure I did the edits I said I would do.

I’m sure you can spot some of the details of the edits.

Thank you all for your part in keeping me motivated in doing what I do. Really appreciate that.
